Financial advice
as honest and
independent
as you.
Money can't buy happiness. But, I believe, a healthy relationship with money can.
Having worked with hundreds of families as a Certified Financial Planner from my offices in Manhattan and Kinderhook, NY, I am still surprised by how few have taken time to consider and prioritize the goals most likely to help them feel financially, professionally, and charitably fulfilled.
My mission is to help you identify those priorities that could set you on a path to financial wellbeing—whether it be maintaining a career that pays little but fulfills a lot; financially supporting other family members; sending your children to elite colleges; or making significant charitable contributions to causes you care about.
I then apply my “quantitative” knowledge, ranging from complex tax planning to charitable trust strategizing to custom portfolio management--to set you on a path to meet those goals.
The Road to Siena
I launched Siena Private Wealth out of this long family tradition of serving my community through locally-owned small business, starting each day with the aim of again earning the right to be my clients’ trusted advisor.

The early lessons I learned from Poppy and my parents,
who followed in Poppy’s self-employed footsteps,
prepared me to be nothing short of a terrible employee, but, ultimately, a thriving, innovative entrepreneur. Indeed, I was raised to respect independent, honest, out-of-the-box thinking from infancy. In our family, respect needed to be earned every day, whether from your family, colleagues or clients.
Partying with Poppy
in 1993
My grandfather, Leo Simon, lovingly referred to as Poppy, dropped out of the seventh grade to drive a truck to support his family—a group of 7 squeezed into a Lower East Side tenement in New York City. At a young age, Poppy purchased his first vehicle and started his own business, Simon Haulage.

Poppy's Lucky Dollar Bill, which he carried in his wallet for 3 decades,
now on proud display at Siena Private Wealth.

Why the name "Siena"? "Siena" pays homage to the bucolic Tuscan region of Italy, where I am most inspired to savor the flavors, beauty, and richness of life. I strive to support my
clients, through financial care, so you may be similarly inspired.

OUR TEAM
Personal Financial Planning >
Whether you’re saving for your children's college or already retired and drawing on your investments for income, we help you make the most of your assets.

We'll work together to develop a savings and spending plan that considers all sources of income and savings and help decide how best to invest and use each savings vehicle for maximum benefit.

We offer financial planning for all clients whose investment portfolios we manage, as we believe it is critical to understand the total financial pictures of our clients to effectively invest.
We will help you financially prepare for and adjust to a new lifestyle. During the divorce process, we will help you assemble a post-divorce budget and target savings goal; run financial projections to identify the optimal settlement for you to reach these goals; and help you prioritize which marital assets would be most beneficial for you to keep. After divorce, we will help you manage your new budget and investments as you transition into the new stage of your life.

We focus on what we can control--smart asset allocations and tax efficient portfolio management--with little consideration of market noise and help you stay on course even when that noise, or emotions, get loud.
We develop custom portfolios with a mix of institutional mutual funds, stocks, and Exchange Traded Funds (ETF's), to provide cost-effective exposure to the asset classes we believe are most likely to help you reach your goals with the least amount of risk.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Proud to support her community, both locally and globally, Marisa donates 3% of net profits to charity. We work with clients and family to select different charities to support annually; let us know if you have a worthy cause you think we should consider.
